Our Story
The Softchin Family
John Softchin - The Farmer. He was born and raised on his family farm in Cochranville, PA. This is where he gained the majority of his knowledge in the world of farming. During his 20s he apprenticed with members of the chester county farriers. He began to grow different varieties of hops and from there dabbled in a little bit of everything. He had a successful strawberry farm after moving to Holtwood, PA. Ashley and John decided to purchase her family farm in Montgomery Co. to continue pursuing their dream of blending their love of horses in farming. John enjoys civil war reenactments and spending time with his family.
Ashley Softchin - Ashley was born and raised at the farm she now currently owns with her husband and daughter. She attended Centenary University and graduated in 2009 with a bachelor of Science concentrated in Equine Studies. She was given the opportunity to study abroad at Hartpury College in Gloucester, England. Once she graduated from Centenary, she decided to pursue an associate’s degree to become certified as a veterinary technician. It was at Harcum College where she ended up at University of Penn. New Bolton Center from 2011 to 2021. She has recently ended that chapter in her life to pursue new life goals of running an equine facility in Montgomery Co. The goals did not end there! She is now Certified as an Equine massage therapist in hopes to become more knowledgeable in PEMF and vibration plate therapies for the equine athletes. Through her marriage, she has grown to love the agricultural world of farming.
Evelyn Rose - She is quite the hard worker. She helps around the farm and waves "Hi" to all the animals. She loves planting and eating tomatoes and carrots!
Ava Helen - She loves crawling and eating dirt.
